DF FORCED TO POSTPONE LATIN AMERICAN TOUR

Rescheduled dates to be announced ASAP...
It is with great regret that DragonForce has been forced to postpone their debut tour of Latin America in May due the Swine Flu crisis, with subsequent travel restrictions and Government restrictions on gatherings of large groups of people.
 
Guitarist Herman Li stated "We are obviously not happy about this as we were all really looking forward to touring Latin America for the first time and were all set to go, but there is nothing we can do about it, this has been forced upon us by Government intervention. Work has already started on re-scheduling the shows so any fans who bought tickets should keep them as they will be valid for the new dates. Watch out for announcements in the media or online as we will be playing there in the near future for sure!"

BENSALEM, PA: One of the most gifted and influential artists of a new generation of rock guitarists, Herman Li of DragonForce, will do a rare guitar clinic presentation on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 7PM at Sam Ash Music in Cerritos, CA. This is any shredhead’s dream come true. “The audience can ask just about any question they want,” explains Li. “From guitar playing to recording, production, the business —anything you can think of.”

Of course, the audience will get what it wants most: to witness Li’s impressive chops, first-hand, as he gives his Ibanez “E-GEN” Herman Li signature model a good workout. They won’t be disappointed. “It’s understood that everyone loves to see and hear music being played (live)” says Li. And, in case anyone is wondering, Herman says he “definitely will be playing DragonForce songs along with backing tracks” –something any aspiring guitarist will not want to miss.

DRAGONFORCE ANNOUNCE SPRING US TOUR OFFERING LOW PRICED TICKETS TO THANK FANS FOR THEIR SUPPORT

DragonForce will be back on U.S. shores this spring to support last year's Ultra Beatdown. The band will embark on a month-long, headlining tour and hit a batch of markets they did not play on their successful tour last November.

The tour was designed specifically as a way to reward DragonForce's throng of fans for their continued support of the band with a low priced ticket. In some cases, advance tickets are as low as $15, which takes these trying economic times into account. There's no better way to spend a hard-earned $15 then by taking in a night of swilling beer and watching the band shred their way through an entire set!

Reunited progressive rock/metal band Cynic and Atlanta-based metallers Daath have been confirmed as the support acts. (updated)

The world tour continues...

After crashing into the Top 20 national album charts in Singapore and Taiwan with the new album ‘Ultra Beatdown’, DragonForce, the Grammy Nominated multi-national metal band based in London, has announced their second tour of the Far East for early April 2009. Their spectacular rise in the Far East countries following their initial sold out tour in 2007 supporting the phenomenally successful ‘Inhuman Rampage’ release took many music industry onlookers by surprise, except Hong Kong born guitar virtuoso Herman Li. Li stated “I honestly always knew we would have a good shot at success in the Far East, the people there like a good show and appreciate good music. Many bands don’t pay enough attention to the various countries in that area of the world and I should know because Hong Kong is my homeland! To be honest it was difficult for us to do our first tour because all of us in the band knew the demands and expectations being made of our time in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan and Australia, and the Far East tour came at the end of an 18 month long World Tour, but we all promised fans we would play there live and honoured that promise. This time around we are adding other countries as well. Obviously I’m looking forward to playing Hong Kong, but we’ll put on a great show for all the fans in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore also! It will be great to be back!”

DragonForce are among the nominees for the 51th annual Grammy Awards
DRAGONFORCE are among the nominees for the 51th annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. DragonForce's "Hero of Our Time" has been nominated for a Grammy in Best Metal Performance!

For the first time, nominations were announced on prime-time television as part of "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown To Music's Biggest Night". The one-hour special — broadcast live on CBS from Nokia Theatre L.A Live — featured past Grammy winners and nominees reading nominations in several categories, as well as performing songs from the Grammy Hall Of Fame in celebration of the grand opening of the Grammy Museum.

Grammy ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed on December 17 to the voting members of The Recording Academy. They are due back to the accounting firm Deloitte by January 14, 2009, when they will be tabulated and the results kept secret until the telecast.

The 51st annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

DragonForce's new album Ultra Beatdown was released on the 20th August in Japan and entered the Japanese national music chart at number 9! Thanks to all the Japanese DragonForce fans for making Ultra Beatdown into the top 10! Excellent reviews of the new album have been flooding in from the land of the rising sun. DragonForce announce first U.S. & Canada tour in support of the new album, Ultra Beatdown!

Fresh off their massively successful stint on the main stage of this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, DRAGONFORCE aren't content to take a break. The band will hit the U.S. and Canada for a six-week headline tour that hits major markets, supporting their new album, "Ultra Beatdown", which lands on retail shelves on August 26. DRAGONFORCE are a touring machine, but their last headline tour occurred two years ago in September 2006. It was a sold-out spectacle that cemented the band's reputation as a live powerhouse, so it's time for the band to once again topline a bill! TURISAS will serve as main support for the tour with POWERGLOVE openning, which kicks off on November 1 and runs through December 19.

DRAGONFORCE have absolutely erupted since the release of 2006's "Inhuman Rampage", which has sold over 300,000 copies in the U.S. and counting. Here's a little information of what INVADE TV is all about:

INVADE TV is a web based music show that aims to give Heavy Metal / Hard Rock fans unrivalled access to the worlds biggest rock and metal bands

The Bands host the show. There are no cheesy presenters so you will only see what the bands want you to see and hear what the bands want you to hear.

Each band will choose 20 music videos they want to show as part of their episode. They talk about what each music video means to them, why they chose it and why you need to see it. As well as having some fun. We'll also be getting you exclusive content such as live footage of your favourite bands. We'll be sinking out teeth into the bands that you love and want to know more about

TOUR TO KICK OFF JULY 9 IN SEATTLE

BURBANK, CA (January 31, 2008) – In what’s sure to be the hottest concert ticket of the summer, multi-platinum rock acts SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED will lead the first-ever ROCKSTAR ENERGY MAYHEM FESTIVAL, a riotous road show packed with some of hard music’s most influential artists and a plethora of the genre’s most exciting young voices. The tour is set to kick off July 9th at the White River Amphitheatre in Seattle and will hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between early July and late August (a full itinerary will be announced in the coming weeks).

Joining Slipknot and Disturbed on the main stage will be DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON. In addition, the tour will have two second stages: one sponsored by JÄGERMEISTER and featuring SEVENDUST, AIRBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, 36 CRAZY FISTS and the JÄGERMEISTER Battle of The Bands Winner. An additional second stage will feature MACHINEHEAD, BLACK TIDE, SUICIDE SILENCE, THE RED CHORD and WALLS OF JERICHO.

“This summer we are truly bringing Mayhem,” says Corey Taylor from SLIPKNOT, who will close each show. “SLIPKNOT is excited to be a part of it, and to be able to bring the new chapter of our history to the masses. We are already working, building and designing a new show. We cannot wait. We cannot lose. Get ready for Mayhem!”

MASTODON

Sevendust are set to release their seventh studio album, Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow, April 1st, 2008. BLACK TIDE

Fresh off their now legendary Ozzfest stint, Avenged Sevenfold dates and a forthcoming tour with All That Remains, Black Tide are set to take the world by storm with their debut album Light From Above, produced by Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind). Revolver Magazine dubbed them the “Future of Metal” and Spin called them "a combination of Megadeth riffage, Metallica brutality, and Guns N' Roses melodicism." 36 CRAZYFISTS

After three critically acclaimed records, 36 Crazyfists switches labels to Ferret Music for their new album, The Tide and Its' Takers due out April 29th, 2008. Still the only hard rock band to build a career from Alaska, 36 Crazyfists has built an international following by doing extensive touring around the world from appearing on the mainstage of UK's Download Festival, to a sold-out European/UK and Australian tour with co-headliners Atreyu. 36 Crazyfists is poised to finally break the US market with the new album produced by guitarist Steve Holt and mixed by legendary hard rock mixer Andy Sneep.

Five Finger Death Punch has been pummeling audiences since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, The Way of the Fist. THE RED CHORD

The Red Chord have been crafting intriguing heavy music since their independent debut Fused Together in Revolving Doors in 2002. DragonForce fire is spreading!
Guitar geeks, video game addicts, metalheads and various combinations of the three have spoken! And word is they love the international phenomenon known as DragonForce. The ‘Force are quickly becoming a household name across message boards, blogs and schoolyards all over the country, thanks to fun ‘n furious guitar wizardry that is omnipresent on their latest Roadrunner effort, Inhuman Rampage, and the flurry of activity that is currently surrounding the band! British metallers DragonForce have claimed the #1 spot for digital single sales amongst other tracks included in Guitar Hero III for "Through the Fire and Flames," a track from their Roadrunner Records debut, Inhuman Rampage. The single saw an impressive 183% increase over the prior weeks single sales, beating out The Killers, The Rolling Stones, Metallica and Guns N' Roses among others. DragonForce also ranked #3 in album sales among other bands with tracks featured in the game. Labelmates Killswitch Engage emerged with #1 album sales when compared to artists included in the game, ranking ahead of Disturbed and Metallica. Guitar Hero III features the track "My Curse" from their current Roadrunner offering As Daylight Dies.

HEAVY metal fan Richard Whyte left girlfriend Elaine Riddell speechless by jumping on to the stage at a gig to ask her to marry him.

He got down on one knee in front of a cheering crowd when DragonForce played at Barrowland in Glasgow. Richard, 21, planned the proposal after enlisting the help of band guitarist Sam Totman.

Richard said: "I have wanted to propose for a while but wanted to make it special.

"It was the perfect time to do it, though it was a little scary in front of thousands of people.

"I was a little worried she wasn't going to say 'yes' so I was delighted when she did. It was the best night of my life."

Elaine, 20, said: "I was shocked because I had no idea he was going to do it. It is a night I'll never forget"

The couple, both call centre workers from Dunfermline, Fife, went on to celebrate their engagement backstage with the band.

They hope to wed next year.

The mighty DRAGONFORCE are set for a UK and Ireland tour this September. The tour will follow the release of their as-yet-untitled new album, which is pencilled to hit stores on 25th August 2008.
The mighty DRAGONFORCE are set for a UK and Ireland tour this September. The tour will follow the release of their as-yet-untitled new album, which is pencilled to hit stores on 25th August 2008.

The band are currently hard at work completing the new album, before heading State side in early July for the start of the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour. The package kicks off in early July and is headlined by Slipknot and Disturbed, with DRAGONFORCE bagging a main stage slot right before them. Meanwhile, DRAGONFORCE’s last album ‘Inhuman Rampage’, is still romping out of stores on both sides of the pond, thanks in part to the inclusion of lead track, ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ as the ‘most difficult' on the top-selling 'Guitar Hero III: Legends' of Rock video game.

Elsewhere in DragonForce news, guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman recently launched their new signature guitars at the NAMM show in Los Angeles. You can check out the details over at www.ibanez.com. Also look out for an exclusive interview with Sam real soon.

TOUR TO KICK OFF JULY 9 IN SEATTLE

BURBANK, CA (January 31, 2008) – In what’s sure to be the hottest concert ticket of the summer, multi-platinum rock acts SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED will lead the first-ever ROCKSTAR ENERGY MAYHEM FESTIVAL, a riotous road show packed with some of hard music’s most influential artists and a plethora of the genre’s most exciting young voices. The tour is set to kick off July 9th at the White River Amphitheatre in Seattle and will hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between early July and late August (a full itinerary will be announced in the coming weeks).

Joining Slipknot and Disturbed on the main stage will be DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON. In addition, the tour will have two second stages: one sponsored by JÄGERMEISTER and featuring SEVENDUST, AIRBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, 36 CRAZY FISTS and the JÄGERMEISTER Battle of The Bands Winner. An additional second stage will feature MACHINEHEAD, BLACK TIDE, SUICIDE SILENCE, THE RED CHORD and WALLS OF JERICHO.

“This summer we are truly bringing Mayhem,” says Corey Taylor from SLIPKNOT, who will close each show. “SLIPKNOT is excited to be a part of it, and to be able to bring the new chapter of our history to the masses. We are already working, building and designing a new show. We cannot wait. We cannot lose. Get ready for Mayhem!”

The Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival brings together the creative team that has founded many music tours including the highly successful Vans Warped Tour and the Worldwide Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour. Kevin Lyman, John Reese and CAA’s Darryl Eaton have partnered again to bring fans the next great music festival juggernaut, which will be MAYHEM! Following the proven model of utilizing sponsorship to deliver a lower ticket price and an enhanced concert experience the tour organizers have joined forces again with ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK as the Title sponsor.

Live Nation is set to promote the festival nationally.

In addition to catching their favorite bands live, fans can take part in a number of festival activities, including playing the newest video games, perusing vendors, attending autograph signing sessions and a slew of other interactive activities that will add to the festival experience.

ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK will be sampling their products and providing great surprises for attendees. Additional sponsors include Jägermeister, HOT TOPIC and The DiNGSTORE.com (Device Personalization Company).

FUSE Television and Revolver Magazine (who will produce the Official Tour Program) have signed on as official Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival media partners. Additional sponsors will be announced soon.
