Ready to release their first live album Twilight Dementia on September 13th via Spinefarm Records (Europe) and the 14th on Roadrunner Records (U.S., Canada), DragonForce are offering a glimpse of what to expect on the 13-song, 2-disc set with the live version of “Through the Fire and the Flames”. Available for streaming right now exclusively through wired.com, the site challenges, “Can your ears handle a blistering live version of one of Guitar Hero’s most notorious tracks?” Find out by going right here to listen.

Twilight Dementia will hit stores on Tuesday, September 14th. Of the album, guitarist Herman Li has said, “These recordings really capture the raw sonic energy of a DragonForce show in fine detail. It is so real that you can hear the noise of the crowd and experience the show as it was that night – you can even hear the guitar pedals being stepped on!”

I can’t wait for the release date – I’ve booked it in my diary and day of at work – and probably the next day off too, to get over the Jack Daniels inspirered hang-over

Definitely awesome. At first I thought the sound was a little weird, but by the end I thought it was good. Funny to read the comments on the wired page, you record a live album to dispel the myth that you can’t play and people still complain that you can’t play live. my personal favorite is someone who said “hey, I’ll admit it, I like some of Dragonforce’s songs. However, I’m not in denial of the fact that they suck live. (although this recording here is probably the best live version I’ve heard)” I wonder why that is?

people think dragonforce sucks live, but they play perfectly live, they just dont get the same sound as they do in studio, but i dont hear them making mistakes, they are just fine live

If you wanna hear/see one of the best live versions of DF (great mixing and no mistakes) search Youtube: DragonForce- Fields of Despair (live in Japan 2005)

There are other videos from this concert on the same user’s page (Fury of the Storm is amazing too)

    It sounds great!
So great that it even makes me wonder more why they departed ways with ZP. He was and will always be the true vocalist of Dragonforce

Great live performance! Though, I must ask, why is it that people are just not able dissociate DragonForce and Guitar Hero III? I mean, it’s not like that’s their only (let alone most noteworthy) accomplishment in their whole career. And seriously, it’s gotten to the point where even Sam has expressed his personal annoyance about it…

You guys sound awesome live. The guitars, vocals, drums, keyboard, everything is just awesome. The band over the course of the past decade has been awesome, and you’ve clicked like a well oiled machine. This album, I know, will be stellar seller when it hits the shelves…

But, maybe I’m beating a dead horse (I don’t care, I believe in miracles) you need to get ZP Theart back!!

DragonForce will never be the same without ZP, just like it would never be the same should Herman, Sam, or any of the rest of crew, leave. ZP was part of the well oiled machine, he’s the VOICE of DragonForce.

Your band is like an intricate puzzle, it has many pieces and many odd angles and designs. And if you take one piece of it, any piece of it away, you end up with a broken design that doesn’t fit like it has been made to be. I mean, after all, the sound of DragonForce is ZP Theart at the helm of vocals, just like it is known by Herman, Sam, and the rest, at their positions.

I’m not saying the band can’t survive, and I’m not saying it isn’t good any longer, I’m just saying that it will never ever be the same without ZP.

I hope you aren’t too upset I put this little spill on here, I know this post is to promote the new live album coming out… It’s just that the leaving of ZP is going to leave a massive crater in the hearts of many DragonForce fans if you don’t get him back, I know it will mine.

Hope everyone in the band can reconsider and give things a second look. I know it would make a lot of DF fans extremely happy, and probably that much more dedicated and close to the band.

    Best,
    Luke

I love all those VIRGINS who are like its shit its gay they cant play etc. if i was in a famous band id be fucking tanked 24/7 having a laugh with all my band around the world. and they clearly can play. CLEARLY the negative comments come from les paul owners who sit jerking off to bullet for my valentine and trivium (who are SUPER SHIT both studio and live). they also have clearly never played a gig…..things dont ever go PERFECT unless your steve vai. because most people are more concerned with having FUN

ZP, you’ll be missed, but DF will have to survive. I’m sure you guys’ next singer will step into the right shoes and fill them well. But this reminds me of my first and only DF concert and how perfectly you guys played your music! Keep up the good work and keep SHREDDING!

I was never really a fan of the band, mainly because of those 2006 live performances that were not so good. I bought a ticket for your live show in México in 2009, and it was a fun nice experience, and well, with this album… this song a least, you guys really show that you have improved live performing, and I will say that’s really great.

I’m really curious about who will be the next singer. I’ve seen a lot of very nice performers in YouTube. I never really liked ZP’s voice, but if a new singer is choosen, I’ll totally go see you guys again if you return to México.

P.S. Herman, you are a great guitar player ;)

I already posted my feelings toward this post the day it was released. this comment is for something that is bugging me, HERMAN ISN’T THE ONLY GUITARIST IN THE BAND! Sam Totman WRITES the majority of ALL DRAGONFORCE SONGS! That means Vocal melodies, chord progressions, and riffs (whenever this actually is a riff in a df song) I just had to say that because all these comments are saying “Herman ur an amazing guitarist”. That isn’t a lie, but SAM WRITES THE SONGS. He deserves a lot of the credit too.
with that sed…SAM AND HERMAN ARE THE BEST GUITARISTS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
